Joshua Rogol Takes The Helm As CEO At Elevate To Drive Growth & Transform Data Center Battery Solutions

ArcLight Capital Partners (“ArcLight”) and its portfolio company, Elevate Renewables (“Elevate”), a leading battery storage developer, have announced the appointment of Joshua Rogol as the new CEO of Elevate. Joshua, who was previously the President of Strata Clean Energy, played a key role in growing Strata into one of the largest independent battery developers in the U.S.

Eric Cherniss, who was the former President of Elevate, has been promoted to Head of Development at ArcLight. As CEO, Joshua and the Elevate team will build on their strong battery development portfolio, leveraging ArcLight’s expertise to pursue new opportunities in brownfield and data center-related battery projects.

Since 2001, ArcLight has managed more than 65 GW of assets and 47,000 miles of electric and gas transmission and storage infrastructure, with an enterprise value of around $80 billion. The company sees strong investment opportunities in AI and data center-related power infrastructure, leveraging its vast experience and resources to play a key role in these growing sectors.

Joshua Rogol, mentioned, “I am excited to join Elevate and ArcLight at this pivotal moment in the battery storage industry. ArcLight brings to the table significant power expertise and resources as one of the leading infrastructure investors in the power sector which Elevate can leverage to provide customized and creative development solutions for strategic partners, utilities, hyper scalers and data center developers.”

Angelo Acconcia, Partner at ArcLight, said “We are excited to partner with Josh as CEO of Elevate Renewables. We believe that battery storage will see significant growth as more large-scale batteries will be needed to meet the growing power and grid reliability needs associated with electrification and AI driven data center development.

James Sullivan at Arclight also added, “Josh has a proven track record of developing large battery portfolios and solutions for strategic partners to help provide fast, effective and scalable infrastructure. We are excited about Elevate’s ability to provide unique customer and market power solutions.”

Elevate Renewables, part of ArcLight, focuses on developing and operating large-scale battery storage systems across key U.S. power markets. With access to ArcLight’s extensive power infrastructure and over 4 GW of projects in its pipeline, Elevate is well-equipped to expand battery storage solutions. Currently, the team is advancing projects in New York, California, and Arizona, working closely with local utilities, energy providers, and regulators to meet growing energy needs.
