BayWa r.e. Nordic Appoints David Rosberg as New CEO to Lead Renewable Growth

BayWa r.e. Nordic has announced the appointment of David Rosberg, currently Head of Finance for the Nordics, as its new CEO, effective February 1, 2025. With a strong background in the wind energy sector, David brings a wealth of expertise in finance, leadership, and corporate strategy to the role.“I am both humbled and excited by this opportunity and look forward to further developing our impressive project portfolio together with the team. The market for wind and solar power as well as battery storage systems (BESS) in Sweden and Finland holds immense potential. While there are challenges, as in any industry, the underlying demand for what we deliver is extraordinary,” said David Rosberg, incoming CEO of BayWa r.e. Nordic.

David will succeed Maria Röske, who will step down as CEO at the end of January 2025 to explore an exciting new opportunity outside the wind energy sector. During her tenure, Maria was instrumental in expanding BayWa r.e. Nordic’s footprint in Sweden and Finland. Under her leadership, the team grew from 14 to 40 members, while the project portfolio surpassed 2,000 MW through successful lease and permit acquisitions.

With David Rosberg at the helm, BayWa r.e. Nordic is poised to continue advancing renewable energy and fostering collaborations to accelerate the energy transition across the Nordic region.
