Energy technology specialist Baker Hughes will supply gas compression units for the San Matias pipeline in Río Negro province to support Argentina’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) export project.
Baker Hughes will provide three NovaLT16 gas turbines with three centrifugal compressors for liquefaction, along with other related technologies and tools, supporting midstream gas compression.
Baker Hughes says the contract marks the first time its NovaLT gas turbine technology will be used in South America.
The pipeline will transport natural gas from the Vaca Muerta formation to the Gulf of San Matias, feeding Southern Energy’s floating LNG (FLNG) vessels.
