Tosyalı, a major global green steel producer with a capacity of 15 million tons of crude steel per year, is continuing to push forward in producing its own energy. The company is investing in innovative technologies, artificial intelligence, and renewable energy sources, all while prioritizing eco-efficiency. As part of its goal to become a fully integrated green steel producer, Tosyalı recently achieved a remarkable milestone. Its solar power project (SPP) now has a total installed capacity of 235 MW, making it home to the world’s largest rooftop solar installation that powers all of its facilities.

In his interview at the World Economic Forum, Fuat Tosyalı emphasized the importance of sustainability and innovation in Tosyalı’s future plans, saying “We continue to invest in advanced clean energy technologies under our vision of ‘Tosyalı for a sustainable life.’ We have taken the first step toward one of the world’s largest self-consumption SPP projects with a capacity of 1,2 GW by initiating the first project in Osmaniye. We are happy to collaborate with GE Vernova, one of the world’s leading companies in this field, and Inogen, Turkey’s leading EPC contractor. These panels will be deployed across SPP sites in eight provinces. By doing so, we aim to meet approximately 50% of our energy needs from solar energy, making us stronger and more independent in energy usage and strengthening our position among the world’s leading green steel producers.”

Tosyalı is also working on an even larger solar project. The company has signed a deal with GE Vernova and Inogen, its regional partner, to begin the first phase of a 1.2 GW self-consumption solar power project. The initial 120 MW of capacity is expected to go live in 2025, with the full 1.2 GW project set to be completed by 2027.Fuat Tosyalı, Chairman of Tosyalı Holding, shared an important update at Davos 2025: “Through this investment, Tosyalı will produce around 50% of its energy needs from solar power.”
