AdventEnergy Aggregates 746 kW For Two Frabelle Cold Storage Facilities In Navotas Under ERC’s Retail Aggregation Program To Deliver Lower-Priced Power

AdventEnergy, the retail electricity supply division of Aboitiz Power Corporation, has successfully completed the aggregation of two facilities operated by Frabelle Cold Storage Corporation in Navotas. The combined electricity requirement of these facilities amounts to 746 kilowatts, enabling them to benefit from a more efficient and cost-competitive power supply arrangement.

This development falls under the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP), an initiative led by the Energy Regulatory Commission. The program allows qualified electricity users to combine or “aggregate” their power demand so they can directly access suppliers like AdventEnergy and secure more favorable electricity rates. By pooling their requirements, businesses can gain better pricing and improved service reliability compared to traditional supply setups.

Gina Camacho-David, Vice President for Retail Operations and Portfolio Management at AdventEnergy, highlighted the importance of such initiatives for critical industries. She noted that sectors like food storage rely heavily on uninterrupted and stable electricity to maintain product quality and safety. Reliable power ensures that temperature-sensitive goods remain preserved, reducing risks of spoilage and financial loss.

For Frabelle Cold Chain Group, this partnership comes at a crucial time. According to its President, Wilfredo Salazar, having a more stable and predictable electricity supply is essential for maintaining efficient operations. The agreement represents a significant step toward ensuring consistent performance across its cold storage facilities.

The timing of this collaboration also aligns with the rapid growth of the cold chain sector in the Philippines. Industry estimates from the Cold Chain Association of the Philippines suggest that the sector is expected to expand by 8–10% annually. This growth is being driven by stricter food safety standards, changing consumer habits, and the increasing presence of supermarkets and modern retail systems.

The Frabelle Cold Chain Group operates fully integrated cold storage facilities located near major ports and highways, allowing efficient distribution across key markets. It is part of the broader Frabelle Group of Companies, which has diversified operations across fishing, aquaculture, food production, logistics and shipbuilding.

AdventEnergy’s role in aggregating power supply extends beyond this partnership. The company has also supported major organizations such as SM Group and DITO Telecommunity, reflecting its ongoing commitment to expanding access to competitive electricity solutions. As of December 2025, the Aboitiz Group holds a 26% share of the country’s competitive retail electricity market, underscoring its strong presence in the sector.

Camacho-David added that AdventEnergy’s “Always-on Innovation” approach is closely aligned with the government’s goal of promoting energy democratization. By enabling more businesses to choose their electricity suppliers and access better rates, programs like RAP are helping create a more open, competitive and efficient energy market in the Philippines.
