US energy solutions specialist Honeywell will supply liquefaction equipment to US liquefied natural gas (LNG) company NextDecade for Train 4 and Train 5 of its Rio Grande LNG project in Brownsville, Texas.
Honeywell has signed a contract with engineering, procurement, and construction provider Bechtel Energy to supply a heat exchanger and refrigerant technology in support of LNG production.
Christina Andersen, President of Gas & LNG at Honeywell, said, “As the demand for energy increases, LNG will continue to play a significant role in meeting this demand and supporting global energy security.”
NextDecade expects Train 4 and Train 5 to be operational by 2031 and increase Rio Grande LNG production capacity by 12 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).
In August NextDecade secured from joint venture partners French energy company TotalEnergies and US infrastructure investment firm Global Infrastructure Partners for Train 4 development, with .
