Airgas expands in California with Hust Brothers deal

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, has acquired the packaged gas and welding distribution business of US automotive parts company Hust Brothers.

The deal expands Airgas’ Californian footprint for medical gases, welding supplies, and additional safety equipment.

Hust Brothers’ gas division has supplied industrial packaged gases and welding PPE to industrial and agricultural customers in Marysville and Yuba City in Northern California.

Two Hust Brothers employees will join the Airgas team based in California.

Mike Eatmon, Senior Vice-President at Airgas Corporate Development, said, “The acquisition of the packaged gas and welding distribution division demonstrates that Airgas [is an] exit plan…for a variety of independent distributors.”
