CleanPeak Energy Holdings (CPEH) has announced that it has fully acquired Sustainable Energy Infrastructure (SEI), strengthening its position in Australia’s renewable energy market. SEI is known for developing and operating smaller-scale solar and battery projects, especially those under 5MW. With this deal, CleanPeak adds a strong portfolio that includes 71 MWac of solar capacity spread across 16 sites and 42 MW of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across 11 locations in New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia.

This acquisition marks an important step in CleanPeak’s growth strategy for the next three to five years. The company is focusing on expanding its “in-front-of-the-meter” solar capabilities, which means generating power that can be directly supplied to the grid or customers. By adding SEI’s assets, CleanPeak is aiming to improve its retail energy business and deliver more affordable and reliable energy solutions across Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM).

The integration of SEI’s assets will also allow CleanPeak to make better use of its expertise in battery development and energy risk management. The company plans to optimize the performance of both solar and storage systems, ensuring higher efficiency and better returns. The wide geographic spread of SEI’s projects is expected to provide additional flexibility and stability in energy supply.

Philip Graham, CEO of CleanPeak Energy, said that the acquisition fits well with the company’s long-term vision of building a smarter and more resilient energy system. He explained that SEI’s high-quality assets will help expand CleanPeak’s presence across the country and improve its ability to deliver clean and cost-effective power. He also mentioned that the company looks forward to building on SEI’s strong foundation to support future growth.

Founded in 2017, CleanPeak Energy has quickly grown into a key player in Australia’s clean energy transition. The company focuses on distributed energy solutions, which involve installing energy systems directly at customer sites. These solutions help businesses reduce energy costs and lower carbon emissions. CleanPeak also manages large sustainable infrastructure projects in major urban areas, providing services such as heating, cooling, and electric vehicle charging.

The transaction was supported by Gresham Partners as financial advisors and Maddocks as legal counsel. With the addition of SEI’s assets, CleanPeak is now better equipped to support Australia’s shift towards a low-carbon future and meet the rising demand for sustainable energy solutions from businesses and government organizations.
