Linde said delays to hydrogen and carbon capture systems at Woodside Energy’s Beaumont ammonia project have pushed low-carbon output to 2027, citing construction and subcontractor challenges.

Speaking during Linde’s Q1 earnings call, CFO Matt White said key elements for hydrogen production had slipped into early 2027, despite earlier plans for a phased start-up through 2026.

It comes after the Woodside said in its first-quarter results that it does not expect blue ammonia production in Beaumont , citing delays from third-party industrial gas suppliers.

“The construction and subcontractor environment in the US Gulf Coast remains challenging, and we’ve had some delays there,” he told investors.
