The Department of Energy (DOE) has visited Aboitiz Renewables’ 221 MWp Olongapo Solar Power Plant, underscoring its support for the Philippines’ expanding clean energy sector and the importance of public-private partnerships in driving the country’s energy transition.

The visit highlights the government’s continued focus on accelerating renewable energy deployment and strengthening collaboration with private sector players to meet growing power demand sustainably.

Aboitiz Renewables, the renewable energy arm of AboitizPower, reported significant capacity expansion over the past few years, increasing its attributable dependable capacity from around 900 MW in 2020 to 2.3 GW in 2026.

The company’s growth has been driven by continued investments across multiple clean energy technologies, including solar, hydro, geothermal, wind, and energy storage systems, aligned with the Philippines’ evolving energy mix and decarbonisation goals.
