Hindustan Power has signed a 800 MW Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with MP Power Management Company Limited for long-term electricity supply from its upcoming power project in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh.

The agreement is being executed through its subsidiary Anuppur Power projects Private Limited and will support the state’s growing electricity demand. Power supply under the contract is scheduled to begin in 2031.

The PSA has been structured for a 25-year tenure, with an option to extend for an additional five years. The project will be developed under the DBFOO (Design, Build, Finance, Own and Operate) model, which enables long-term private sector participation in power infrastructure development.

According to the company, the upcoming unit will use advanced ultra-supercritical technology to improve efficiency and support large-scale baseload power generation.

Hindustan Power Chairman Ratul Puri said the agreement marks a key milestone in the company’s expansion strategy and reinforces its commitment to meeting India’s rising demand for reliable baseload electricity driven by industrial and economic growth.

He added that the PSA reflects confidence in the company’s execution capabilities and its ability to deliver large-scale, efficient power infrastructure for long-term energy security.

The company noted that the project is expected to strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s power supply framework, support regional economic development, and generate employment opportunities during construction and operation phases.

Hindustan Power, which entered India’s transitional energy sector in 2008, has an established operational presence in Anuppur, where earlier project phases were commissioned in 2015 and 2016.
