NextDecade Corporation has filed an application for Rio Grande LNG Train 6 with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
The project comprises one liquefaction train (6) and a marine jetty (berth 3), with operations slated from 2032. They will be located within the footprint of the previously authorised LNG terminal.
Berth 3 will be in an area to be dredged along the Brownsville ship channel, west of the previously authorised two jetties.
It will consist of two dedicated LNG loading arms, one vapor return arm, and one hybrid arm that could be used for loading or vapor return as needed.
Rio Grande is targeting LNG production of 17.6 million tonnes per annum.
The first three trains are slated for a 2027 start-up, with Trains 4 and 5 reaching last year.
