ACEN Corp, the renewable energy arm of the Ayala Group, has secured approximately USD 78 million in financing to support the integration of a battery energy storage system (BESS) at its solar photovoltaic (PV) project in the Philippines.

The funding will be used to develop and install storage capacity alongside the company’s existing or developing solar facility, enabling improved energy management and greater utilization of renewable power.

Once operational, the battery system is expected to store excess solar energy generated during the day and dispatch it during peak demand periods, enhancing grid stability and supporting more reliable electricity supply in the Philippines.

The project reflects the growing shift toward hybrid renewable energy systems in Southeast Asia, where solar developments are increasingly being paired with battery storage to address intermittency challenges and improve system flexibility.

ACEN continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio across solar, wind, geothermal, and storage technologies, reinforcing its position as one of the region’s leading clean energy developers.

The latest financing highlights sustained investor confidence in solar-plus-storage projects, which are becoming a key component of the Philippines’ long-term energy transition strategy.
