Meritus expands in Colorado with HICO acquisition

US packaged gas distribution network Meritus Gas Partners has announced that its subsidiary, Buckeye Welding Supply, has acquired the assets of HICO Distributing of Colorado (HICO).

HICO is a provider of helium solutions across Colorado and was founded in 1993.

For Buckeye, an independent industrial gas distributor, the acquisition of HICO expands its helium capabilities and establishes a fourth location in Englewood, Colorado.

Buckeye joined the Meritus . The company operates three locations in Colorado and marked Meritus’ first partnership in Colorado.

With its Colorado-based footprint, the company serves the Denver metro, Colorado Front Range and Mountains, Eastern Colorado, Western Kansas and Western Nebraska regions.

Founded in December 2020, Meritus is a portfolio company of AEA Investors Small Business Private Equity.

The company continues to assemble a national network of independent distributors of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as welding and safety supplies, located in diverse geographies and serving growing end-markets.
