Omega Bright Steel Signs PPA with LR Energy for 6 MWp Captive Solar Plant in Haryana

Omega Bright Steel Private Limited has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with LR Energy Panipat Private Limited for the development of a 6 MWp (DC) / 5 MW (AC) captive solar power plant in Bhiwani, Haryana, marking a step forward in the steel manufacturer’s renewable energy and sustainability initiatives.

The captive solar project is expected to supply clean electricity for Omega Bright Steel’s manufacturing operations, helping the company reduce its carbon emissions, improve energy security, and increase the share of renewable energy in its operations.

According to the company, the agreement aligns with its broader strategy of building a more energy-efficient manufacturing ecosystem while supporting India’s clean energy transition. The company said the investment reflects its commitment to responsible manufacturing and long-term environmental sustainability.

Omega Bright Steel also acknowledged the efforts of the teams from both organisations in bringing the project to fruition, highlighting the collaboration with LR Energy Panipat Private Limited in advancing clean energy adoption within the industrial sector.

The company stated that the project underscores its focus on integrating sustainable energy solutions into its operations while creating long-term value for customers, stakeholders, communities, and the environment.
