Arcadia, a global platform for utility data and energy solutions, has acquired RPD Energy, a top provider of renewable energy solutions in the U.S. This move strengthens Arcadia’s Enterprise Solutions, specifically its Energy Procurement Advisory services for businesses nationwide.

For the past decade, RPD Energy has led the way in clean energy procurement, developing innovative transaction models that help businesses access renewable power while managing costs and risks. The company brings deep market expertise, advanced analytics, and experience in wholesale and retail energy structuring. Notably, RPD Energy offers a 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy product that has won industry recognition. Its clients include major corporations such as Iron Mountain, Adobe, Intuit, and UPS.

Kiran Bhatraju, founder and CEO of Arcadia, said “As we enter a world of energy scarcity, corporate buyers are increasingly looking for custom procurement solutions that achieve energy security and sustainability goals. The old model is broken — reliant on manual processes and narrow solutions that lack data-driven insights. By combining RPD Energy’s innovative approach with Arcadia’s technology platform and community solar program, we can deliver smarter, more comprehensive procurement solutions to our enterprise customers.”

With the acquisition of RPD Energy, Arcadia is expanding its ability to assess and execute customized energy solutions for businesses, covering both onsite and offsite options. Unlike traditional brokers, Arcadia leverages in-house expertise and partnerships to offer tailored energy strategies based on each business’s unique needs and market conditions. Its Energy Procurement Advisory services now include flexible supply agreements ranging from 0-100% clean energy, community solar, direct purchases from renewable generators, behind-the-meter solar and storage solutions, demand-side management, demand response, utility tariff optimization, and data-driven energy management solutions such as RECs and offsets.

As the operator of the largest community solar portfolio in the U.S., Arcadia manages over 2 GW of capacity and supports 2,500 organizations in securing local clean energy contracts. Its platform also processes millions of solar and storage analyses annually. By integrating RPD Energy’s deep market expertise, Arcadia strengthens its ability to blend onsite and offsite solar into broader energy procurement strategies, offering businesses more comprehensive and cost-effective clean energy solutions.

Max Duckworth, former board chair of RPD Energy and an ex-Constellation Energy executive, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating that Arcadia is the ideal partner to take RPD’s carbon-free energy solutions to the next level. He highlighted how the combined strengths of both companies will help businesses optimize energy security, costs, and sustainability.

Following the acquisition, Rohit Marwaha, EVP of Product Development and Supply at RPD Energy, will lead Arcadia’s onsite and offsite energy procurement advisory services. With two decades of experience in customer solutions and energy structuring, he will continue driving innovation in enterprise energy solutions, ensuring that Arcadia remains at the forefront of the clean energy transition.
