Green Energy Stocks Deliver Mixed Performance As Sensex And Nifty End Lower (14 August 2026)

Indian stock markets ended marginally lower on August 14, 2026, with benchmark indices witnessing a subdued trading session. The S&P BSE SENSEX declined 0.09% to close at 78,009.25 points, while the NIFTY 50 slipped 0.17% to 24,354.85 points. Against this muted market backdrop, green energy and clean technology stocks delivered a mixed performance, with several counters recording strong gains while others faced significant selling pressure.

Kabra Extrusion emerged as the top performer among the tracked green energy stocks, gaining more than 7%. The company’s shares closed at Rs 521.00 on the BSE, up 7.43%, while the NSE price stood at Rs 519.00, reflecting a 7.16% rise.

Praj Industries also recorded strong buying interest, advancing 4.31% on the BSE to Rs 335.40 and 4.14% on the NSE to Rs 334.85. Adani Green Energy gained nearly 2%, closing at Rs 1,345.00 on both the BSE and NSE. Insolation Energy rose 1.80% to Rs 99.05 on the BSE, while Tata Power also ended higher at Rs 383.20 on the BSE and Rs 383.10 on the NSE.

On the losing side, Olectra Greentech recorded the steepest decline among the tracked stocks. Its shares fell 5.68% to Rs 1,315.00 on the BSE and 5.31% to Rs 1,319.50 on the NSE. Websol Energy also remained under pressure, declining nearly 3% to Rs 84.80 on the BSE and Rs 84.79 on the NSE.

Exide Industries fell 1.92% to Rs 475.80, while Borosil Renewables declined 1.52% to Rs 571.30 on the BSE.

Major energy companies also largely reflected the broader market weakness. Reliance Industries declined 0.64% to Rs 1,308.00, while L&T slipped 0.18% to Rs 4,062.70. Indian Oil Corporation fell 1.48%, GAIL declined 0.51%, and NTPC Green Energy dropped 0.49% to Rs 91.90.

Indian Energy Exchange, Juniper Green Energy and Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy also closed lower, while Amara Raja Energy & Mobility ended almost flat at Rs 949.00. Overall, the session highlighted selective investor interest across the green energy segment despite weak broader market sentiment.
