Buckeye Welding Supply, part of the US industrial gas platform Meritus Gas Partners, has acquired Colorado-based industrial and medical gas supplier Wagner Welding Supply.
The deal expands Meritus’ regional footprint with Wagner’s Longmont, Colorado location and adds another independent distributor to its growing network.
With the Wagner location, Buckeye now has five locations in Colorado, strengthening its presence in northwest Denver. The deal follows Buckeye’s of HICO Distributing in Englewood, Colorado, in July.
Wagner has supplied industrial and medical gases to the northern Denver market for over 80 years.
Dennis Ogden, current owner of Wagner, said, “Meritus has a…model that allows us to maintain the culture and legacy that made [us] successful while providing access to the resources and expertise of a larger organisation.”
Steve Schwegman, President of Buckeye, said the company is looking to expand Wagner’s capabilities to meet demand in the construction, aerospace, and chemical markets.
Meritus announced its partnership with Buckeye in August 2025, marking its into Colorado. Co-owners Bill and Ken Brack remain equity investors in Meritus.
The company recently announced it has its Southern California team by promoting Matt McClelland and Robby DePasquale to General Sales Manager roles.
