Green Energy Stocks Show Mixed Trading as Sensex Ends Flat and Nifty Gains 0.31% (18 September 2026)

Indian benchmark indices ended mixed on September 18, 2026, while renewable energy and clean mobility stocks witnessed varied movements across the BSE and NSE. The S&P BSE Sensex declined marginally by 0.03% to close at 74,294.96 points, whereas the Nifty 50 gained 0.31% to settle at 23,341.85 points.

Among green energy stocks, Kabra Extrusion emerged as one of the strongest gainers. The stock advanced 8.56% on the BSE to ₹689.00 and increased 7.77% on the NSE to ₹681.90. Insolation Energy also recorded strong buying interest, rising 6.11% on the BSE to ₹92.90 and 4.86% on the NSE to ₹91.63.

Adani Green Energy gained 3.75% on the BSE to ₹1,313.70, while its NSE price increased 3.31% to ₹1,316.40. Battery manufacturer Exide Industries rose 4.36% on the BSE to ₹436.35. Borosil Renewables added 2.54% to reach ₹461.00 on the BSE.

Other large energy and infrastructure companies also recorded gains. Larsen & Toubro increased 1.57% on the NSE to ₹3,896.50, while Indian Oil Corporation advanced 2.01% on the BSE to ₹136.80. JSW Energy gained 1.33% to ₹517.80, and Olectra Greentech moved up 1.13% to ₹1,198.45. Indian Energy Exchange rose 0.88% on the NSE to ₹114.40. NTPC Green Energy and Inox Wind also ended higher, with gains ranging between 0.80% and 1.15% across the exchanges.

Selling pressure affected several stocks. Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy declined 2.45% on the BSE to ₹175.00 and 1.94% on the NSE to ₹175.75, making it one of the notable sectoral decliners. Praj Industries fell 0.76% on the BSE to ₹314.90, while Reliance Industries slipped 0.55% on the BSE to ₹1,233.95 and 0.04% on the NSE to ₹1,243.40.

Some stocks showed contrasting movements between exchanges. Tata Power gained 1.76% on the BSE to ₹374.80 but declined 0.49% on the NSE to ₹367.20. Juniper Green Energy also rose 2.91% on the BSE to ₹265.00 while falling 1.76% on the NSE to ₹257.20.

Overall, the session reflected mixed trading across India’s green energy market, with strong gains in select renewable and clean technology stocks despite limited movement in the broader benchmarks.
