Green energy stocks witnessed a mixed trading session on September 30, 2026, as investors remained cautious amid limited movement in the broader domestic equity markets. While several renewable energy and power-related stocks recorded gains, others came under selling pressure during the session.
NTPC Green Energy Ltd. emerged as one of the strongest performers among the sectoral stocks on the BSE. The company’s share price increased 3.92% to close at ₹93.50. Adani Green Energy also recorded gains, rising 1.67% on the BSE to ₹1,277.00, while its NSE-listed shares advanced 1.00% to ₹1,272.60.
Borosil Renewables also witnessed positive movement during the session. Its shares gained 1.44% on the BSE and 2.09% on the NSE, closing at ₹461.95. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) advanced 1.63% on the BSE to ₹134.15. Exide Industries and Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) also posted modest gains across the two exchanges.
Among major market participants, Reliance Industries recorded a marginal increase of 0.30% on the BSE, closing at ₹1,187.50. Larsen & Toubro also ended slightly higher at ₹3,755.10, indicating limited movement among some large-cap companies.
On the other hand, several green energy and power stocks declined during the session. Inox Wind was among the notable losers, falling 3.28% on the BSE to ₹69.64 and 1.20% on the NSE to ₹70.64. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility declined 1.61% on the BSE, closing at ₹754.00.
Kabra Extrusion also faced selling pressure, with its BSE-listed shares falling 1.83% to ₹809.60. JSW Energy declined 1.33% on the BSE and closed at ₹491.40.
Tata Power recorded a mixed performance between the two exchanges. Its shares gained 0.28% on the BSE to ₹359.00, while the NSE-listed shares declined 0.22% to ₹358.20.
The sectoral movements came as the broader Indian equity market remained largely subdued. The S&P BSE Sensex declined 0.07% to close at 72,480.29, while the NSE Nifty 50 fell 0.33% to 22,640.20.
The session highlighted divergent movements across renewable energy and power stocks, with individual companies witnessing different levels of buying and selling interest despite the relatively quiet broader market.
