Pandora has opened the world’s largest fine jewellery crafting facility in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, marking a major expansion of its global manufacturing operations. The facility represents an investment of USD 150 million and is the Danish jewellery company’s first production plant outside Thailand and its fourth manufacturing facility worldwide.
Spread across 7.5 hectares, equivalent to around ten football fields, the new facility is designed to increase Pandora’s overall manufacturing capacity by 50%. Once fully operational, the plant will have the capacity to produce up to 60 million pieces of jewellery annually. The project is also expected to create around 7,000 local jobs and provide specialized training to workers through Pandora’s dedicated crafting academy.
Sustainability is a key part of the facility’s design and operations. The plant has received LEED Gold certification, a globally recognized standard for sustainable building and construction practices. Pandora said the facility has been developed with advanced systems focused on reducing energy and water consumption while improving overall operational efficiency.
The entire facility is planned to operate using 100% renewable electricity. This renewable energy strategy is intended to reduce the environmental impact of the manufacturing process and support Pandora’s wider climate commitments. The company is targeting a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2030.
The new facility will also incorporate circular economy practices into jewellery production. Pandora said every piece of fine jewellery manufactured at the Vietnam site will use 100% recycled gold and silver. The approach is expected to reduce reliance on newly mined precious metals while supporting the company’s transition toward more sustainable material sourcing.
In addition to its existing jewellery production, the facility will contribute to Pandora’s future product development, including its planned production of platinum-plated jewellery. The combination of advanced manufacturing capabilities, skilled workers and sustainable production systems is expected to strengthen the company’s global supply chain.
Authorities and local representatives have welcomed Pandora’s investment, highlighting Vietnam’s growing importance as a destination for sustainable industrial development. Access to renewable electricity, a skilled workforce and an expanding manufacturing ecosystem were identified as key factors supporting the company’s decision to establish the facility in Ho Chi Minh City.
With its large-scale production capacity and focus on renewable energy, recycled materials and resource efficiency, Pandora’s new facility represents an effort to combine manufacturing growth with environmental responsibility. The company expects the Vietnam plant to play an important role in supporting future demand while advancing its sustainability goals.
