NTPC REL Invites Bids For 2,100 MW Solar Bifacial Module Procurement In Rajasthan

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has invited online bids through domestic competitive bidding for the manufacturing, packing, forwarding, and transportation of crystalline solar photovoltaic (PV) bifacial modules for solar projects with a combined capacity of 2,100 MW across Fatehgarh and Bikaner in Rajasthan.

The tender aims to procure solar PV modules for the company’s utility-scale renewable energy projects. The scope of work covers the manufacturing of modules, their packaging, forwarding, and transportation to the designated project locations. The procurement process will follow domestic competitive bidding procedures, with participation restricted to Class-I local suppliers in accordance with applicable public procurement guidelines.

NTPC REL will finance the package through its internal resources, external borrowings, or a combination of both. Interested bidders must register on the ISN Electronic Tender Services (ETS) portal to participate in the tendering process. They are also required to submit a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), which is mandatory for obtaining authorisation to download the official bidding documents.

The Invitation for Bids (IFB) was issued on October 14, 2026. The bidding documents are available for download from October 14 to October 24, 2026, until 17:00 hours. The pre-bid conference and the deadline for submitting queries are scheduled for October 26, 2026, at 11:00 hours.

The last date for submitting Envelope-I, containing techno-commercial bids, is November 5, 2026, at 15:00 IST. The opening of these bids will take place on the same day at 15:30 IST. NTPC REL has set the cost of the bidding documents at nil, allowing eligible participants to access the tender documents without paying a document fee.

However, bidders must furnish a valid Bid Security, also known as an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD), based on the capacity combination quoted. The EMD requirements range from ₹5 crore for a capacity of 262.6 MWp to ₹50 crore for higher capacity combinations of up to 2,494.7 MWp. The applicable security amount will depend on the selected block and capacity combination.

The tender specifies that all bank guarantees submitted towards the EMD must be provided electronically through the National e-Governance Services Limited (NeSL) platform. Physical bank guarantees will not be accepted. The Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) will be determined after evaluation in accordance with the applicable guidelines and the final awarded contract value.

Financial eligibility requirements include minimum average annual turnover and net worth criteria to assess bidders’ financial strength and execution capabilities. For Cluster A, the specified average annual turnover requirement is ₹97.24 crore for capacities of up to 300 MWp.

Through this procurement, NTPC REL is advancing module sourcing for its solar projects in Rajasthan while applying domestic supplier eligibility, financial qualification, and security requirements to the bidding process.
