Hinen, in partnership with SED Group, will showcase its latest residential solar-storage solutions at Solar & Storage Live Africa 2025, the continent’s largest renewable energy exhibition. The event will take place from March 25–27, 2025, at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, bringing together industry leaders, experts, and policymakers to explore clean energy solutions. Hinen’s cutting-edge solar-storage systems are specifically designed to address South Africa’s ongoing power crisis and accelerate its transition to sustainable energy.
In 2023, South Africa experienced a record 332 days of power outages, with daily blackouts lasting over 10 hours. This energy crisis has significantly impacted the economy, reducing the nation’s GDP by 5–10% annually, amounting to approximately $30 billion. However, South Africa has immense potential for solar energy, receiving over 2,500 hours of sunshine each year, one of the highest globally. Government initiatives such as tax rebates and grid-access policies are driving the rapid adoption of solar and storage systems, making renewable energy a viable solution for both residential and commercial users.
Hinen’s solutions are tailored to meet South Africa’s unique energy challenges. There is a growing demand for off-grid and hybrid energy systems as more homes and businesses seek reliable power alternatives. The products are built to withstand extreme weather conditions, ensuring durability and efficiency. Additionally, the solutions are highly scalable, catering to individual households as well as community-level energy needs.
At the exhibition, Hinen will introduce its H6000-EU Hybrid Inverter and B5000 Low-Voltage Battery, designed to provide seamless, safe, and efficient energy management. The H6000-EU Hybrid Inverter, with its 6kW single-phase capability, supports 190% PV oversizing, allowing up to 11.4 kW of solar input. It intelligently integrates AC-coupled, DC-coupled, and hybrid modes, ensuring optimal performance through app-based customization. Its IP65-rated enclosure offers protection against dust, water, and extreme temperatures, while its fanless design ensures ultra-quiet operation with noise levels below 25dB.
The B5000 Low-Voltage Battery features a robust five-layer safety system, including BMS-controlled protections, physical short-circuit safeguards, fire suppression mechanisms, and pressure relief technology. It is highly adaptable, with a modular design that can expand from 5kWh to 30kWh, making it suitable for both residential and small business applications. With a wide operating temperature range from -20°C to 55°C and rapid 1C charging/discharging capability, it ensures reliable backup power, even in the most demanding conditions.
Beyond these low-voltage solutions, Hinen offers a comprehensive energy ecosystem that includes on/off-grid systems, portable power stations, and scalable storage products. Whether aimed at combating blackouts, reducing energy costs, or promoting sustainability, Hinen and SED Group bring a combination of localized expertise and global innovation to deliver reliable and cost-effective energy solutions.
Solar & Storage Live Africa 2025 provides the perfect platform to experience these innovations firsthand. The event will take place from March 25–27, 2025, at the Johannesburg Expo Centre. Visitors can explore Hinen’s latest offerings at Booth HA116-B234, where the company will be exhibiting alongside SED Group.
