The International Energy Week (IEW) 2025, set to take place at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from July 15 to 17, will highlight Sarawak’s leadership in the global clean energy transition.

With the theme “From Sarawak to the World: Journey to Clean Energy Leadership,” the event aims to showcase the state’s commitment to advancing renewable energy technologies, including hydrogen power, solar energy, and carbon capture.

Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, emphasized that IEW 2025 will serve as a strategic platform to position Sarawak as a key player in the sustainable energy sector.

“The event will foster innovation, drive international collaborations, and align with Sarawak’s Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 to promote renewable energy initiatives and attract investments,” Dr Hazland stated.

The Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, is expected to officiate the opening ceremony.

IEW 2025 is projected to attract over 6,500 attendees from more than 25 countries, alongside over 400 companies and key industry leaders. The event aims to deliver actionable policy recommendations and strengthen Sarawak’s position as a clean energy innovation hub within the ASEAN region.

Organized by Informa Markets Malaysia in partnership with the Sarawak Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability and supported by Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak), the conference is expected to serve as a milestone event for the future of clean energy initiatives.
