Gorilla Technology Group has secured a landmark $1.8 billion agreement to lead Thailand’s largest energy digitisation and infrastructure transformation initiative. Spanning 15 years, the AI-powered programme aims to modernise the nation’s electricity ecosystem by enhancing power distribution, strengthening security, and optimising energy efficiency on an unprecedented scale.

Unlike traditional infrastructure projects, Gorilla has introduced an innovative financial model that ensures long-term, sustainable funding, aligning investment with measurable efficiency gains and grid optimisation.

AI-Driven Energy Modernisation
The initiative marks a pivotal step in Thailand’s energy future, integrating AI, automation, and data intelligence to create a more resilient power network. The programme’s key objectives include:

AI-powered grid intelligence: Optimising energy flows, reducing inefficiencies, and improving response times.
Cybersecurity for critical infrastructure: Implementing real-time threat monitoring, encrypted communications, and anomaly detection.
Empowering consumers: Providing advanced energy management solutions for greater control and efficiency.
Deployment will commence in 2025, with major financial impact projected between 2026-2027 as the AI-driven smart grid reaches full operational capacity.

Financial Model & Revenue Growth
Gorilla’s performance-linked financial structure differs from conventional models by tying revenue generation to efficiency improvements rather than one-time capital investments. Over the 15-year lifecycle, the initiative is expected to generate multi-billion-dollar cumulative revenue, ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

Mike Wang, sales director for Thailand and the rest of Asia, stated, “This is not just an infrastructure upgrade – it is a radical shift in how energy is managed. By integrating AI, automation, and cybersecurity, we align with Thailand’s goal of building a resilient, technology-driven economy.”

Technology specialist Viraphan Paiboolsilp added, “This agreement represents a defining moment for Gorilla Technology and Thailand’s energy sector. Our expertise in AI and analytics will help reshape the way energy is distributed and consumed nationwide.”

As Thailand embarks on this transformation, the initiative is expected to set a new global benchmark for AI-driven energy modernisation, reinforcing the country’s position as a leader in smart energy innovation.
