Shell Overhauls Executive Team, Integrated Gas and Upstream Director to Leave

(Reuters) – Shell’s Director of Integrated Gas and Upstream, Zoe Yujnovich, will step down at the end of the month after more than a decade with the oil major, it said on Tuesday.

In a move aimed at simplifying its leadership structure, Shell has appointed Cederic Cremers as President of Integrated Gas and Peter Costello as President of Upstream.

The changes are part of Shell’s strategy to streamline its senior management structure.

“We have made significant progress in the last two years building stability with a track record of strong performance and active portfolio management, while simplifying our business,” Chief Executive Officer Wael Sawan said in a statement.

“Going forward, we will delayer our most senior leadership structure to reflect the three primary areas of business value – Integrated Gas; Upstream; and Downstream, Renewables and Energy Solutions, whilst also elevating Trading and Supply.”

Shell launched a company-wide review in 2023 aimed at reducing costs as Sawan focuses on activities with the highest returns.

The company told Reuters in December that Shell Energy, which includes renewables, power generation and customer supply, would be split into separate power generation and trading units.

Sawan said on Tuesday that in the first half of 2026, Shell would also integrate the technical divisions, that make up its Projects and Technology directorate, into its business lines.

From April 1, executive committee leaders will adopt the title of “President” of their respective organisations, replacing the title of “Director”.
