Fabtech Engineering & Groupe M Partner to Advance UAE’s Renewable Energy Innovation

Fabtech Engineering, a steel fabrication specialist based in Dubai Industrial City, has signed a strategic agreement with French industrial leader Groupe M to drive innovation and sustainability in the UAE’s nuclear and renewable energy sectors.

The agreement, aimed at strengthening local manufacturing and engineering capabilities, was formalized during a signing ceremony attended by Nicolas Niemtchinow, French Ambassador to the UAE; Anouar Mekkas, Nuclear and Renewable Energy Adviser at the French Embassy in Saudi Arabia and the UAE; and Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group PJSC, representing Dubai Industrial City.

Fabtech Engineering’s Chairman, Dr. Harry Moraes, and Vice President of Business Development, Fabien Jeoffroy, signed the agreement alongside Groupe M’s Chairman, Julien Monteiro, and Deputy CEO, Pierre-Laurent Buch.

Under the partnership, the two companies will develop engineering, manufacturing, and on-site solutions to support the UAE’s nuclear and renewable energy ambitions, aligning with the UAE Energy Strategy 2050.

Pierre-Laurent Buch, Deputy CEO of Groupe M, highlighted the significance of the agreement, stating, “This landmark deal strengthens our presence in the Middle East and builds on the robust ties between the UAE and France. With Fabtech’s strong foundation in Dubai Industrial City, we anticipate significant growth in the nuclear and new energy sectors, delivering high-value solutions to an expanding client base.”

Fabien Jeoffroy, Vice President at Fabtech, emphasized the role of Dubai Industrial City’s infrastructure in the company’s expansion, noting its strategic location and well-developed transport network. He added that the company will focus on low-carbon nuclear energy and environmentally responsible industrial growth through this collaboration.

As part of the agreement, Fabtech will enhance its existing 2.1 million sq. ft. facility at Dubai Industrial City, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Saud Abu Alshawareb of TECOM Group PJSC underscored the importance of local industry partnerships, stating, “Dubai Industrial City’s ecosystem fosters collaborations that align with national strategies, including Operation 300bn, Make it in the Emirates, UAE Energy Strategy 2050, and Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’. This partnership reaffirms the UAE’s leadership in clean energy and industrial sustainability.”

The collaboration is expected to accelerate locally sourced solutions, improve site support operations, and contribute to the UAE’s long-term industrial and energy goals.
