Iberdrola Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainability by Joining UN Global Compact’s Sustainable Suppliers Training Programme

Iberdrola has announced its participation in the UN Global Compact’s third edition of the Sustainable Suppliers Training Programme. The initiative is aimed at promoting sustainability among its suppliers, with more than 920 SME suppliers from four continents set to benefit from the training.

Building on the success of previous years, in which 338 suppliers completed the programme, Iberdrola continues to foster sustainability across its supply chain. The training covers key areas such as the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the company’s environmental and social governance practices. Participating SMEs will receive free access to online courses, live sessions, case studies, and resources to enhance their sustainability efforts.

The programme, which runs for five months, will offer valuable insights into sustainability, business ethics, and non-financial reporting. Upon completion, suppliers will be awarded a certificate of participation. Iberdrola’s Supplier Code of Conduct, which emphasizes human rights, safety, inclusion, and environmental respect, remains a key requirement for all its suppliers.

The company’s involvement aligns with its broader commitment to sustainable business practices, ensuring that its partners meet rigorous standards for social responsibility and environmental stewardship.
