AAI Invites Bids For INR 14.85 Crore Ground-Mounted Solar Plant At Agartala Airport

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has invited eligible contractors to participate in an e-tender for the provision of a ground-mounted solar power plant at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala, Tripura. The project is expected to strengthen the airport’s renewable energy infrastructure and support greater use of clean power.

According to the tender, the estimated project cost is ₹14.85 crore, excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST). The selected contractor will be required to complete the project within nine months. The completion schedule includes a two-month provision to account for disruptions caused by the rainy season.

Bidders must submit their offers through the Central Public Procurement Portal (CPP Portal) under a two-envelope bidding system. The tender processing fee has been fixed at ₹3,540, inclusive of GST, and is non-refundable. The required Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) is ₹29.72 lakh.

For financial evaluation, AAI will determine the lowest bidder based on the installation cost along with the Net Present Value (NPV) of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) and Annual Integrated Comprehensive Maintenance Contract (AICMC) charges. An 8.7% discount rate will be applied for calculating the NPV.

The successful bidder’s EMD will be returned after submission of a security deposit equivalent to the EMD amount or a Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) in favour of the Airports Authority of India.

The tender was published and made available for download from September 4, 2026. A pre-bid conference and site visit are scheduled for September 9, while clarifications can be submitted until September 11.

The deadline for online bid submission is September 26, 2026, at 18:00 hrs. Original bank guarantees or surety bonds against the EMD must be submitted by September 30. The technical bids will open on October 1, followed by the financial bids on October 12, 2026.
