ADNOC Gas plc, alongside its subsidiaries, has announced a long-term strategic partnership with Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) to accelerate the UAE’s energy transition. The collaboration is anchored by a $10 billion, 10-year flexible natural gas sales and purchase agreement between ADNOC Gas Facilities LLC and EWEC.

The partnership was formalized in the presence of Fatema Al Nuaimi, CEO of ADNOC Gas, and Othman Al Ali, CEO of EWEC, along with representatives from both organizations.

Fatema Al Nuaimi expressed the importance of the partnership, stating, “We value our long-standing collaboration with EWEC, which aligns with our shared commitment to advancing the UAE’s net-zero ambitions. By leveraging Abu Dhabi’s extensive gas reserves, this agreement supports economic diversification, digital transformation, and energy resilience across the nation.”

Othman Al Ali emphasized the role of the partnership in the UAE’s energy landscape, adding, “This agreement secures a stable and flexible natural gas supply, which is critical to bridging traditional and sustainable energy sources. It strengthens EWEC’s ability to provide an efficient, decarbonized water and electricity system, contributing to the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative.”

  • Flexibility and Transition: The agreement ensures a consistent supply of natural gas to plants across Abu Dhabi and the UAE, supporting the integration of renewable and clean energy while maintaining transitional capacity.
  • Economic Growth and Sustainability: The collaboration reinforces efforts to transform the UAE’s energy sector into a clean and renewable-focused industry, advancing economic growth and digital technology-driven diversification.
  • Decarbonization Goals: Both entities aim to reduce carbon footprints, with EWEC prioritizing renewable energy innovations and ADNOC Gas offering lower-carbon energy solutions to support sustainability initiatives.

The partnership demonstrates ADNOC Gas’s commitment to providing secure, affordable, and lower-carbon energy to its customers, ensuring long-term energy security while delivering shareholder value.
