Air Liquide to invest $50m in US semiconductor gas plant

Industrial gas major Air Liquide will invest over $50m in a gas production plant – likely an air separation unit – for a semiconductor manufacturing business based in the southeastern US.

The plant, expected to be operational by the end of 2027, will produce ultra-pure nitrogen and oxygen, essential for chip manufacturing.

Its design will ensure these gases meet the high-purity standards required by the semiconductor industry.

Matthieu Giard, who oversees operations in the Americas, said, “Air Liquide is proud to build upon three decades of collaboration with the US electronic[s] business, firmly supporting the growth objectives of the US semiconductor sector.”
