Industrial gas major Air Products expects its helium supply to electronics customers in Asia to more than double by 2030, as new assets come online and long-term supply agreements gather pace amid an AI-driven “super cycle” in semiconductor demand.
The company said electronics remains a key growth area, supported by the ramp-up of new capacity across Asia and closer collaboration with large, long-term electronics customers on helium supply.
“This year, the industry is in the midst of a historical super cycle period to satisfy AI demands with rapid capex expenditures,” said CEO Eduardo Menezes.
Air Products said it is currently executing around $1bn in air separation and hydrogen projects in Asia tied to multi-phase semiconductor and memory developments, with further expansion expected as new fabrication capacity is built out.
