Industrial gas giant Air Products will build, own, and operate industrial gas production facilities and a bulk specialty gas system in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, to supply electronics firm Samsung.
Under a signed contract, Air Products will supply nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and hydrogen to Samsung’s new semiconductor facility.
The new facilities are expected to come on stream in multiple phases from 2028–2030.
SR Kim, President of Air Products Korea, said he was pleased to be chosen again by Samsung as a key partner supporting its strategic growth in the semiconductor space.
Samsung’s Pyeongtaek site is its flagship semiconductor manufacturing base and one of the largest chip production complexes globally.
Located in Gyeonggi Province, the campus is designed to house up to six fabrication plants. Existing lines produce advanced DRAM and NAND, as well as foundry chips.
With multiple expansion phases underway, the site supports next-generation semiconductor production and represents a core pillar of Samsung’s global chip strategy.
