Alandalus Property Company Partners with Emerge for Solar Power Projects in Riyadh and Jeddah

Alandalus Property Company has entered into an agreement with Emerge, a joint venture between Masdar and EDF Group, to implement rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems across three major commercial properties in Riyadh and Jeddah.

The agreement, signed by Eng. Faisal bin Abdulrahman Al-Nasser, CEO of Alandalus Property Company, and Mr. Michel Abi Saab, General Manager of Emerge, was attended by Omar Aldaweesh, CEO Saudi Arabia, EDF Group and Board Director of Emerge KSA, along with Aurelien Delahaye, Deputy CEO Middle East, EDF Group.

Under the 10-year contract, Emerge will finance, design, construct, and maintain solar PV installations with a combined capacity of up to 3.4 megawatts peak (MWp) at Hayat Mall in Riyadh, as well as Alandalus Mall and Alandalus Mall Hotel in Jeddah.

The initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy to enhance renewable energy adoption and reduce carbon emissions. Eng. Faisal bin Abdulrahman Al-Nasser emphasized that integrating solar energy solutions would contribute to sustainability efforts while improving energy efficiency and delivering economic benefits.

Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, highlighted Emerge’s role in providing green electricity through its Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model, allowing businesses to lower energy costs while advancing sustainability goals. Meanwhile, Omar Aldaweesh, CEO of EDF Saudi Arabia, noted that the partnership reflects EDF’s commitment to expanding renewable energy initiatives across the Kingdom.

Emerge, operating in Saudi Arabia as Al-Shorouk Sustainable Energy Company, specializes in solar generation, energy storage, and hybrid solutions. As part of its mission, the company offers turnkey solar power agreements without upfront costs to clients.

Alandalus Property Company is a leading real estate investment and development firm with a diverse portfolio in commercial and retail sectors.
