Nigerian industrial and medical gas supplier Apex African Gas Nigeria (Apex) has inaugurated a new 70 tonnes per day air separation unit (ASU) in Lagos, increasing its total production capacity to 110 tonnes per day.
The ASU forms part of a new manufacturing facility, comprising of a 65 metre cold box, cylinder filling station, storage tanks, cooling water tower, and process piping.
Speaking at the ASU inauguration earlier this week, Rissam Ramlawi, Managing Director and CEO of Apex, said, “The expansion underscores the company’s resolve to meet [Nigeria’s] growing demand for medical and industrial gases.”
The facility will support the local distribution network by reducing imports and driving down costs.
Apex produces high-purity liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen, in addition to argon, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, helium, hydrogen and gas mixtures.
The company serves a diverse range of industries across the Nigerian market, including metallurgy, manufacturing, healthcare, waste management, paper, food and beverage sectors.
The company has 400 tonnes of cryogenic storage capacity and 25,000 cylinders across the Nigerian industrial and medical gas distribution network.
