ARESCA wants input on offshore wind standards

The American Renewable Energy Standards and Certification Association (ARESCA) is calling for experts who are directly and materially affected parties who are interested in participating as a member of an American National Standards (ANS) consensus body, known as the ARESCA Standards Committee of the Board (SCB), to support the adoption of the following IEC TC 114 and TC 88 standards as ANS:

  • ARESCA 62600-100-202x, Marine energy – Wave, tidal and other water current converters – Part 100: Electricity producing wave energy converters – Power performance assessment (identical national adoption of IEC TS 62600-100:2024)
  • ARESCA 62600-101-202x, Marine energy – Wave, tidal and other water current converters – Part 101: Wave energy resource assessment and characterization (identical national adoption of IEC TS 62600-101:2024)
  • ARESCA 62600-103-202x, Marine energy – Wave, tidal and other water current converters – Part 103: Guidelines for the early stage development of wave energy converters – Best practices and recommended procedures for the testing of pre-prototype devices (identical national adoption of IEC TS 62600-103:2024)
  • ARESCA 62600-200-202x, Marine energy – Wave, tidal and other water current converters – Part 200: Electricity producing tidal energy converters – Power performance assessment (identical national adoption of IEC TS 62600-200:2025)
  • ARESCA 62600-201-202x, Marine energy – Wave, tidal and other water current converters – Part 201: Tidal energy resource assessment and characterization (identical national adoption of IEC TS 62600-201:2025)
  • ARESCA 61400-16-202x, Wind energy generation systems – Part 16: Standard file format for sharing power curve information (identical national adoption of IEC 61400-16:2027)
  • ARESCA 61400-32-202x, Amendment 1 – Wind energy generation systems – Part 32: Operations and maintenance of blades (identical national adoption of IEC 61400-36:2026)
  • ARESCA 61400-40-202x, Wind energy generation systems – Part 40: Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) – Requirements and test methods (identical national adoption of IEC 61400-40:2025)

If you wish to participate on the SCB, please express your interest by May 11, 2025, to George Kelly, the ARESCA SCB Secretary via email (secretary@aresca.us).
