North Carolina-based independent gas and welding distributor American Welding & Gas (AWG) has appointed Sean Bruckner as Vice-President of Operations for the North Region.
Bruckner joins AWG from US industrial, medical, and specialty gas distributor Airgas, an Air Liquide company, having most recently served as an area vice-president, after spending over 28 years at the company and its Rockford Industrial Welding Supply (RIWS) subsidiary.
At Airgas, Bruckner led operations for 19 branch locations with over $130m in annual revenue, supporting sales, operations, distribution, safety, and customer experience for over a decade.
Before that, he was regional vice-president at RIWS, directing multi-branch operations and managing major regional customer relationships.
Under the acquisition of RIWS’s parent company, Encompass Gas Group, in 2013, Bruckner transitioned into the leadership role at Airgas.
AWG is a family-owned firm, founded in 1949, that operates over 100 retail locations and 22 gas fill plants located in 22 states.
The company distributes products including bulk quantities of cryogenic gases and individual packaged gas cylinders through its fleet of over 250 trucks and trailers.
Earlier this month, AWG its Texas footprint with the acquisition of United Welding Supply, an independent industrial gas supplier serving customers across South Texas.
