Helium-3 production and supply company Black Moon Energy has unveiled plans for a robotic mission to the Moon, which will collect data and carry out key activities needed to reduce risks associated with future helium-3 production.
Black Moon Energy will lead mission management, resource assessment, and large-scale operations planning.
Additionally, the company has partnered with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and Caltech for the mission. The pair will oversee the mission’s robotic systems, scientific instrumentation, data collection, and mission operations, drawing on their expertise in robotic space exploration.
The mission will also map lunar resources and test robotic extraction technologies.
