Brenmiller Europe S.L. Names Renewable Energy Leader Emilio Lopez As Board Chairman

Brenmiller Energy Ltd., a global leader in thermal energy storage solutions, has announced Emilio Lopez as the new Chairman of its joint venture, Brenmiller Europe S.L. The company, based in Spain, was established in September 2024. Brenmiller Europe leverages the expertise of its joint venture partners to develop and implement large-scale clean energy projects across Europe. The venture focuses on growing product sales, providing energy services, and obtaining project financing in rapidly expanding markets.

Emilio Lopez is a seasoned engineer with over 25 years of leadership experience in renewable energy and energy efficiency. He has worked across all stages of the energy value chain, from project development and financing to construction and operations. His international experience includes Spain, Portugal, the USA, the UK, and Uruguay, with expertise in thermal technologies like biomass, concentrated solar power (CSP), and cogeneration. Known for his innovative approach, Emilio is dedicated to advancing sustainable energy solutions and achieving operational excellence.

Dr. José Luis Morán, Managing Director of Brenmiller Europe, brings over 30 years of leadership experience in energy, renewable, and industrial sectors. With a PhD in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, he also serves as Director of Integrated Energy Solutions for Viridi and Green Enesys, overseeing hydrogen and green e-Methanol projects using off-grid hybrid PV and wind plants.

Previously, José led the Solar Business Unit at Siemens Spain and was President of Solel’s Spanish branch, specializing in thermoelectric power plants. Since 1997, he has lectured on Thermal Engineering and Offshore Renewable Energy at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and helped establish his Master’s Degree in Marine Renewable Energy in 2017, focusing on offshore wind solutions.
