Clean Energy Partnership: Trina Solar and AMEA Power to Power Africa’s Largest Solar Project in Egypt

Trina Solar has partnered with AMEA Power, a leading clean energy company in the Middle East, to develop large-scale energy storage projects in Egypt. The collaboration will power the Abydos energy storage project in Aswan with a cutting-edge Elementa 2 platform (5MWh), delivering a total of 300 MWh capacity.

This initiative marks a milestone as Africa’s largest solar photovoltaic program and Egypt’s first public utility-scale battery energy storage system project.

Trina Solar’s Role:

  • The Abydos project is Trina Solar’s first energy storage project in the Middle East and Africa.
  • Their advanced Elementa 2 platform uses vertically integrated LFP batteries for robust and scalable grid solutions.

AMEA Power’s Contributions:

  • Headquartered in Dubai, AMEA Power has already deployed 6 GW of clean energy projects across 20 countries, showcasing its commitment to renewable innovation.
