Renewable natural gas producer CycleO has opened two new biomethane plants in Spain as part of a wider commitment to boost renewable gas production in the country.
The plants are in Manlleu, Barcelona, and Artajona, Navarra, and each use cattle waste from farms to produce up to 15 GWh per year of biomethane.
Biogas is captured from the farms and upgraded to biomethane using technology developed by CycleO company FNX before being injected into the gas grid via a virtual pipeline at an injection point.
