Nonprofit organizations in Dominion Energy’s service areas are encouraged to apply for grants through the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation. Grants are available to support initiatives in human needs, environmental stewardship, education, and community vitality. Applications are accepted twice annually, in the spring and fall. The spring application period is now open and will close at 5 p.m. ET on February 24, with decisions announced in May.

Hunter A. Applewhite, President of the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, stated “Nonprofits are instrumental in enriching local communities every day. These grants will strengthen their efforts to assist people in need and to bolster vibrant community life. Supporting nonprofits is just one more way Dominion Energy works to make a meaningful impact in the areas we serve.”

Organizations located in areas where Dominion Energy operates—such as Virginia, South Carolina, northeastern North Carolina, Connecticut, and parts of West Virginia and Rhode Island—are eligible for funding. Starting in 2025, grant applicants must register their organization with Benevity before submitting an application. To assist nonprofits, the foundation will hold virtual office hours in January and February, providing guidance on the application process, timeline, requirements, and using the Benevity platform.
