Enabling PV + Transport Synergy:Huasun’s Vertical HJT Solar Innovation Boosts Space-Efficient and Low-Carbon Mobility

As land scarcity limits solar deployment along transportation corridors in major urban areas—including railways, transit systems, and expressways—vertical photovoltaic (PV) systems are emerging as a space-efficient solution. Huasun Energy’s high-performance heterojunction (HJT) modules are now enabling a new wave of vertical installations designed to integrate clean energy into constrained transport environments.

Take China as an example: government agencies such as the Ministry of Transport are activelypushing for greater renewable energy use along transport infrastructure, with a goal of adding 5 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2027. Meanwhile, full EV charging coverage in service areas across 11 provinces signals readiness for widespread solar integration.

Huasun’s Kunlun series HJT modules, delivering up to 768.9 W of peak output and nearly 100% bifaciality, are ideally suited for vertical PV applications. Whether installed vertically inportrait or landscape orientation, these modulessignificantly reduce ground footprint and integrate seamlessly into existing infrastructure without requiring changes to layout or design.

Beyond saving space, vertical installations generate more electricity during the morning and evening, when energy demand and prices are typically higher. This helps avoid the lower prices seen around midday with traditional tilted systems. Huasun’s performance assessment in Xinjiang, western China, showed that under time-of-use electricity pricing, vertical systems delivered a 2.29% higher internal rate of return (IRR) compared to conventional tilted systems.

With nearly 100 MW of vertical PV projects already deployed in Germany, Huasun’s HJT modules are positioned to support the global push toward integrated “PV + Transport” solutions. From expressways to airports, they enable a scalable path to cleaner, more efficient mobility.
