UK energy-from-waste (EfW) operator Enfinium has submitted a planning application to install carbon capture technology at its Parc Adfer facility in Deeside, North Wales.
A decision from Flintshire County Council is due early 2026.
Parc Adfer currently diverts up to 232,000 tonnes of unrecyclable waste from landfill.
Plans to install carbon capture at the facility were first announced in April 2024 and the project was recently shortlisted by the UK government as a standby project for grant support to connect to the HyNet North West carbon capture network currently under construction in the region.
