Enphase Energy, Inc., a leading global energy technology company, has announced that its Enphase® Energy System now integrates with Octopus Energy’s smart tariffs, including “Intelligent Octopus Flux” (IO Flux), which helps customers save on electricity bills. Enphase and Octopus Energy formed a strategic partnership last year to deploy IQ8™ Microinverters and IQ® Battery 5P™ in the U.K.

Octopus Energy uses its proprietary Kraken platform to manage and optimize distributed energy resources (DERs), giving customers the flexibility to control Enphase’s solar and battery systems. Many Octopus customers have already adopted this technology to access lower home energy rates. Now, Octopus customers with Enphase solar and battery systems can take advantage of Intelligent Octopus Flux, a smart tariff that optimizes the charging and discharging of these systems.

This allows customers to get the best rates for importing and exporting electricity. According to Octopus, over 40% of IO Flux customers make a profit by exporting energy rather than paying for imported energy. With Enphase batteries, Octopus customers can automatically charge when prices are low and sell surplus energy during peak times, maximizing savings and helping to balance the grid.

Nick Chaset, executive vice president at Octopus Energy, “Intelligent Octopus Flux helps customers make the most of their solar panels, optimizing usage in real time to cut bills. Teaming up with Enphase, renowned for its reliable, top-notch tech, means we can deliver even more value to U.K. homeowners – saving money while building a smarter, greener grid together.”

Marco Krapels, Vice President Of Worldwide Business Development at Enphase Energy, “This partnership with Octopus Energy represents the next step in our mission to deliver more value to homeowners by combining advanced technology with innovative energy programs. We’re excited to work with Octopus on a global scale to provide meaningful wins for homeowners, Octopus, and all ratepayers, ultimately driving a cleaner, more cost-effective energy future.”

Octopus Energy is the largest energy provider in the U.K., serving over nine million households with energy products and customer service. It operates in 27 countries and uses its advanced Kraken platform, powered by data and machine learning, to support more than 60 million customers worldwide. The Enphase Energy System, featuring the IQ Battery 5P and IQ8 Microinverters, offers a better experience for both homeowners and installers.

It provides more power, stronger communication, and easier setup. Homeowners can monitor and manage their systems through the Enphase® App. The system complies with the latest U.K. regulations for solar and battery storage connections (G100-2). Enphase also offers 24/7 customer support and a top-tier warranty: a 25-year warranty for IQ8 Microinverters and a 15-year warranty for IQ Batteries in the U.K.
