ERC Pushes Solar PV and Net-Metering Adoption at MMSU Summit

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has reiterated its commitment to advancing renewable energy adoption in the Philippines through stronger collaboration with local government units (LGUs) and industry partners. The regulator participated in the Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Installer and LGU Partnership Summit held at Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU).

ERC’s Market Operations Service Director Sharon O. Montañer outlined the requirements and approval process for the Net-Metering Program and highlighted partnerships with LGUs aimed at making solar adoption more accessible nationwide. She also presented Net-Metering Certificates of Compliance (COCs) to the Department of Education (DepEd) Extension Office and the DepEd Schools Division of Laoag City.

The engagement forms part of the ERC’s Continuing Regulatory Education for Stakeholders (CREST) initiative, which promotes awareness and capacity-building on renewable energy policies. The program supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to accelerate clean energy deployment, enhance electrification, and ensure affordable and reliable electricity for all Filipinos.
