Road transport gas supplier Gasrec has begun construction of its second open access biomethane refuelling site at Hams Hall in the UK, which is located between the M6 and M42 motorways.
The facility, due to be operational by September, will initially provide capacity for up to 300 gas trucks to refuel on bio-LNG every day, and ultimately accommodate up to 1,000 trucks. It will have seven bio-LNG dispensers.
Over the next two years the company, which operates 18 stations, plans to roll out facilities in Warrington and Avonmouth. The Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT) at junction 18 of the M1 can refuel up to 700 trucks daily.
James Westcott, Chief Commercial Officer of Gasrec, said, “The appetite from fleets is there, we are regularly at full capacity at DIRFT so the need for further gas infrastructure is clear.”
