Global Energy Alliance Appoints Tanya Singhal to Lead India’s Clean Energy Expansion

The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet has appointed Tanya Singhal as Vice President for India, marking a strategic step in strengthening its clean energy initiatives across the country. The appointment comes at a time when India is rapidly expanding renewable energy capacity while focusing on grid resilience, energy storage and wider access to clean power.

Singhal brings extensive experience in India’s renewable energy sector. She is widely recognized as the co-founder of SolarArise, a utility-scale solar company that developed large solar assets across multiple states. During her entrepreneurial journey, she played a key role in mobilizing significant capital for renewable energy deployment and building a strong project portfolio, positioning her as an influential voice in India’s energy transition.

In her new role, Singhal is expected to lead the Alliance’s India operations with a focus on accelerating investments in battery energy storage, grid modernization and distributed renewable energy systems. Her leadership is likely to support the organization’s broader objective of enabling cleaner, more reliable and affordable energy solutions while strengthening long-term energy security.

Over the past three years, the Global Energy Alliance has built a growing presence in India through multiple clean energy initiatives spanning infrastructure development, financing mechanisms and innovation-led projects. The organization has also been actively supporting programs designed to improve grid flexibility and integrate higher shares of renewable energy into the power mix.

Industry observers see Singhal’s appointment as a strong signal of the Alliance’s long-term commitment to India’s clean energy market. With rising electricity demand and increasing emphasis on decarbonization, her leadership is expected to help unlock fresh momentum in the country’s renewable energy and storage sectors.
