Harmonizer Energy Pvt. Ltd. has announced the successful commissioning of an advanced microgrid energy system integrated with battery energy storage at the Bhandgaon manufacturing facility of Western Metal Industries Private Ltd. (WMI), one of India’s leading aluminium slug manufacturers.
The project combines solar power generation, battery energy storage, grid connectivity, and diesel generator backup through an AI-driven Energy Management System (EMS), designed to enhance energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability across the manufacturing facility.
The deployed system includes 500 kW of solar PV inverter capacity, a 600 kW/1,200 kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), utility grid integration, and a backup diesel generator. The intelligent EMS platform coordinates the operation of all energy assets, enabling optimized power management and seamless energy flow across the facility.
According to Harmonizer Energy, the AI-based control system prioritizes renewable energy generation and battery storage as the primary power sources, supporting the facility’s objective of maximizing clean energy utilization and reducing dependence on conventional power sources. The utility grid serves as a supplementary energy source, while the diesel generator is reserved exclusively for emergency backup during prolonged non-solar periods and grid outages.
The company stated that the project has achieved net-zero energy operation while ensuring uninterrupted power availability for critical manufacturing processes. The system is designed to utilize 100% of the solar energy generated on-site, improving energy efficiency and minimizing energy wastage.
Key outcomes of the deployment include round-the-clock reliable power supply, enhanced power system stability, improved power quality, reduced reliance on grid and diesel-generated electricity, and the elimination of production disruptions caused by power fluctuations. The project has also helped address nuisance failures in sensitive electronic equipment used within the manufacturing facility.
Industry observers note that the integration of artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and battery storage technologies is becoming increasingly important for industrial consumers seeking to improve energy resilience, lower operating costs, and meet sustainability targets.
The project represents a significant step toward industrial decarbonization and intelligent manufacturing infrastructure, demonstrating how advanced microgrid solutions can support cleaner and more resilient industrial operations in India.
As industries continue to pursue energy transition strategies, AI-enabled microgrids and battery storage systems are expected to play an increasingly critical role in enhancing operational reliability while accelerating the adoption of renewable energy.
