Iberdrola France has finalised the sale of its onshore renewable energy portfolio in France to the French renewable energy company Technique Solaire. The portfolio sold includes 118 MW of fully operating onshore wind capacity, along with a development pipeline of 639 MW combining future onshore wind and solar photovoltaic projects.
This move aligns with the broader strategy of the Iberdrola Group to concentrate its investments on core areas such as regulated networks and power generation secured through long-term contracts. It also reflects the company’s intention to prioritise key markets, particularly the United States and the United Kingdom, where it sees stronger long-term growth opportunities.
The completion of this sale marks the fifth major transaction undertaken by Iberdrola this year. Earlier in the year, the group divested its mini-hydro assets and slurry business in Spain, exited its operations in Hungary, and expanded its joint venture with Norges Bank Investment Management by adding 650 MW of solar power capacity. Through these transactions, Iberdrola continues to streamline its operations and reallocate resources to strategic markets and business areas that offer more stability and long-term growth potential.
